Gretchen Vannice began working with dietary supplements in 1986, and has focused exclusively on research and education with omega-3s since 2003. She also has experience in health education, with a particular expertise in obesity prevention and weight management. Gretchen has her BS and BA in Nutrition and Dietetics, and a Master of Science degree in Nutrition Science. She is also a registered dietitian, nationally licensed and accredited by The American Dietetic Association.
Gretchen has been a research assistant at the University of California, San Francisco, Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Northern California and the Stanford University School of Medicine.
Gretchen is an accomplished speaker and educator. Throughout her career she has been educating the public on nutrition and natural health care. She has presented at public schools, the YWCA, Portland Community College, San Jose City College, lectured at the Natural Health Care Lecture Series (Santa Cruz, CA), and has performed radio interviews. Several years ago, as Education Manager for a supplement manufacture, she developed teleconference programs as a new and effective method of reaching busy clinicians.
She has been an invited speaker at several local and state dietetics meetings, speaking in California, Montana and Oregon on dietary influences on metabolic syndrome X and the impact of fish oil on cognition and mental health. She has been a guest lecturer at several medical institutions, including Oregon Health Sciences University and the University of Arizona’s Program in Integrative Medicine. She has also instructed at continuing education events for nurses. As a health educator for Kaiser Permanente, Gretchen developed and implemented clinical weight management and herbal seminar programs.
