Ian Newton is an internationally recognized expert in human nutrition. Ian’s experience in agriculture and in the food and pharmaceutical industries in North America is extensive. He has published and presented widely and serves in an advisory capacity on the boards of several academic and industry bodies in both Canada and the U.S. Ian was born and received his education in New Zealand, graduating from the University of New Zealand with Science Degrees in Botany and Zoology and then completed additional postgraduate research before immigrating to North America.
 
Ian is a member of the Council for Responsible Nutrition, the American Oil Chemists Society, and the Institute of Food Technologists. He is on the Advisory Committee of The Richardson Centre for Functional Foods & Nutraceuticals at the University of Manitoba.
