Roy grew up near London where the food was so good! To make up for the overcooked vegetables, he vividly remembers the fish oil capsules that were key to his Mum’s armory of healthy nutrients.

Roy went on to a career in banking and finance in London and then moved to the Unites States to attend Harvard Business School. While there he met and married Amanda. Amanda’s mum once ran a health food co-op and the whole family are deeply initiated in healthy food and nutrition and alternative medicine – both her brother and sister have Masters degrees in Chinese Medicine and are practicing acupuncturists. Amanda – once a serious athlete and now a very active mum to two boys has gradually introduced Roy to healthier habits. This included initiating him in marathon running and later to triathlons.

After Harvard, Roy worked in Boston for McKinsey, a large consulting firm, and soon grew tired of the big corporate life. In 1997, Roy co-founded Health Business Partners, LLC (“HBP”). This became a fully integrated publishing, conference, consulting and financial advisory firm focused on the Consumer Health Care and Nutrition industries. Roy was responsible for:

Through his work at HBP, Roy met many of the leading figures in nutritional supplements and natural and organic foods and gradually incorporated his learning into his lifestyle.

In the 1980’s, Roy volunteered, worked with and established charities that provided relief supplies, medical equipment and other aid in several impoverished countries including Romania, Rwanda, Tanzania, India and Nepal. Those memories of seeing extreme need and being involved in providing relief have never left his mind. Through NourishLife, Roy is seizing the opportunity to go back to his roots and help others.
